Ph.D. is a project created by Scottish musician Jim Diamond after some experience United States as a major shift workers, sees the light of the shift workers in 1980 with two Jeff Beck Band: Tony Hymas and Simon Phillips. The self-titled debut album of 1981 is now suddenly dragged by the single "I Will not Let You Down" best-selling worldwide. The second album "Is It Safe?" 1983 is of considerable caliber, supported by the single "Fifth of May" and especially "I Did not Know" genuine hit in Europe. In 1984, the project ends and Jim Diamond continues in his important solo career.
